In this guide I will be showing you how to counter Xerath. This champion is one of the most powerful magicians I have ever seen, as he has a wide range of ability. He also has a great passive that regenerates a little mana, each time he has it active and hits with a basic attack, allowing him a great power to pokear. But since all League of Legends champions have their weaknesses, I’ll show you Xerath’s disadvantages here.

Tips for dealing with Xerath

  • Use champions with displacements. Scrolling champions are a nightmare for Xerath, as their skills need a lot of precision.
  • Use champions with long distance CC. The long distance CC is quite helpful against him, as he will always be attacking from far away.
  • Avoid being left with little life on the line. This champion and his great rank, can kill you quite easily, as it also possesses quite a lot of magic damage and CC.
  • Xerath counter champions

The following champions are the most recommended to face Xerath.

    Jarvan IV

This champion I recommend jungle, as his great skills can help capture Xerath and finish him off. The E and Q skills of Jarvan IV, can throw through the air the enemies that are touched by Jarvan IV, when he makes his displacement. Xerath is weak against the CC, as he is a very weak champion and has no mobility.

This champion possesses great skills that can be used against Xerath. Kennen’s skills and his passive are very useful to finish off Xerath, as he is weak to the CC. Kennen can catch Xerath from an oversight, as he can enter with his skill E to gain speed and use a flash to reach him with his ultimate.

This champion is the one I recommend the most, to face Xerath, because she has excellent skills and very good passive. Ahri’s passive can heal her every time the accumulation reaches its limit and can be cured quite a bit with each unit she touches with her Q. Ahri’s definitive ability can also help her, kill Xerath or escape from him.

The ADC that I recommend most against Xerath is Ashe, because it has a great passive and a great ultimate, which can annoy Xerath. As we know Xerath is a rather weak champion and if he is hit by any weakness can go very badly. Ashe’s ultimate ability can help you catch Xerath or cancel his tool from a good area and quite easily.

This champion can be combined with Ashe, to catch Xerath and get him out of the fight pretty easy. Leona’s skills can help cancel Xerath’s ultimate or catch him, since Leona has good CC. Leona’s ultimate skill can be thrown from a good place to reach your target.

    Xerath counter items

The following items have to be used, to have a better confrontation against Xerath.

    Malmortius jaws

Malmortius jawsThis item gives a magical resistance shield to the champion who owns it, when he reaches -30% of his life. Allowing it to withstand 300+1 magic damage, this item is badly needed, as Xerath can cause quite a bit of magic damage.

    Mercury Fajin

This object removes any weakness in which the possessor is when activated. Xerath’s ability E can stun an enemy touched by that ability, but this object will allow you to leave that CC in time and attack Xerath.

ZhonyasThis object immunizes the champion who possesses it when activated. Xerath’s abilities could make one of them the definitive one, but having this object will help Xerath fail and not succeed in attaining his ability that can cost death.
